The leader of a Civilian Volunteer Organization (CVO) was shot and hacked dead by four assailants in Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur last Tuesday night.

Police identified the fatality as Manuel Entienza, 50, married. He succumbed to multiple gunshot and hack wounds in the different parts of his body.

A police report disclosed that Entienza was on his way home from CVO duty about 10 p.m. when his path was blocked by armed men.

Witnesses said the armed men shot Entienza at close range using high powered firearm.  Not contented, the assailants hacked Entienza repeatedly until he was dead.

Police responded at the crime scene but the attackers have already escaped. — Noning R. Antonio
