Operatives of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company led by Supt. William Gadayan arrested a suspected big-time shabu pusher at the port area yesterday morning.

Gadayan identified the suspect as Absar Bangsa Ajijul, 30, of Talon-Talon, this city.

Police recovered from Ajijul’s possession a large pack of shabu with market value of P20,000-P30,000 and P500 marked money.

Initial investigation showed that Gadayan received an information that Ajijul was scheduled to arrive yesterday from Jolo, Sulu bringing large amount of shabu.

Gadayan immediately formed a team that was deployed at the port area at dawn yesterday and waited for Akijul’s arrival.

At 5 a.m., Ajijul alighted from a vessel and a police poseur buyer met him pretending to buy shabu.

After Ajijul handed over to the poseur buyer a large sachet containing shabu, a  back-up team surrounded him. He tried to escape by running away but he was collared.

Ajijul was detained at the central police station while the shabu pack was forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.

Investigators have prepared charges to be filed in court against Ajijul. – Dan Toribio Jr.
