A businessman was shot to death by a client in his residence at Alvarez Drive, Talon-Talon yesterday afternoon.

Johnny Tan, married, sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and was declared dead on arrival by hospital physicians.

Police identified the alleged gunman as Abdulmuin Sumampil, a native of Lamitan City, Basilan.

A police report disclosed that Sumampil had borrowed from Tan P107,000, leaving a motorcycle as collateral. This is in addition to P300 additional debt.

Yesterday around 1:45 p.m., Sumampil went to Tan’s house and engaged him in a conversation during which Sumampil pulled out a .45 caliber pistol and shot Tan several times.

Sumampil hurriedly left the place after shooting Tan.

Investigators recovered at the crime scene six spent shells and two slugs of .45 caliber pistol.
