House Deputy Speaker and 1st District Representative Beng Climaco and the Ateneo de Zamboanga University yesterday mounted a luncheon concert for a cause featuring the ‘Bukas Palad’ choir, a Jesuit Music Ministry whose popular songs brought inspiration to liturgical activities.

Dubbed “Himig para sa Isang Daang Taon”, the concert was meant to celebrate ADZU’s 100 years through songs of praises and worship. The concert venue, Astoria Plaza, was filled to the brim, as the Bukas Palad choir belted out its popular songs like I will Sing Forever, Tanging Yaman and many more.
Proceeds of the event will be used for the renovation of the Ateneo Sacred Heart Chapel.

Cong. Climaco as an alumna of the University supports the endeavor as a way of paying tribute t the Jesuit fathers and her Jesuit education.
“This is our simple way of giving back to Ateneo the many things the institution had taught us”, the congresswoman emphasized.

Meanwhile, the District I Congressional office also supported the first ever Mass Toothbrushing Drill and Fun Run organized by the Philippine Dental Association yesterday morning at 5 the Centro Pastoral.

The toothbrushing drill and fun run were intended to promote dental hygiene standards as well as the overall well-being of an individual.

It is reported that majority of the population, mostly young children do not know how to brush teeth properly and that some of the school children do not own toothbrushes. — Marvin Segura
