Operatives of Task Force Hunter under the unit of the City Police Office’s Intelligence Section led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines and SPO1 Amado Mirasol, arrested a suspected Abu Sayyaf terrorist along Barcelona St last Monday afternoon.

Arrested was Kammak Ibno alias Mohammad Ibno y Muksan, an alleged “fixer” at the National Statistic Office and a resident of Campaner St., this city. He has a pending warrant of arrest for kidnapping under Article 267 of Republic Act 7659 with Case No. 26004 issued by Judge Peter Eisma of the Regional Trial Court Branch 15 last October 5, 2011.

A police report disclosed that Ibno was one of five Abu Sayyaf men under the leadership of slain Usman Lijal, who tried to kidnap eight-year-old Champaigne Amba in Sta. Catalina last December 29, 2008

Amba was rescued by responding government forces and one of the suspects identified as Abdila Alih was arrested while Ibno and other cohorts eluded arrest.

Alih was charged of kidnapping and was immediately detained at the Zamboanga City Reformatory Center. Last year the court issued a warrant of arrest for Ibno.

It was learned that Ibno and his companions underwent training with other ASG men under Lijal.

After the training, they were sent here in the city for a test mission which was the aborted kidnap of Amba

Ibno was placed under tactical interrogation. — Dan Toribio Jr.
