A man was shot to death during a wedding ceremony at Upper Busay, Sacol Island last Thursday morning.

The fatality was identified as Onde Tahirin y Dahia, widow. He was shot by Salam Hasilun y Kandom.

Initial investigation disclosed that Tahirin was attending a wedding around 9 a.m. when Hasilun armed with an M16 rifle arrived and shot him without much ado.

Tahirin sustained bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot.

Witnesses told the police that Hasilun left the place after Tahirin slumped on the ground.

Recovered at the crime scene were four spent shells of 5.56 caliber bullet.

Sacol policemen led by Chief Insp. Nonito Asdai mounted a follow-up operation to arrest Hasilun.

The cadaver was claimed by his relatives for burial services in an Islam rites. – Dan Toribio Jr.
