Pedicab driver dead, pal hurt in Mariki shooting PDF Print E-mail

A pedicab driver was killed while his companion was wounded in a gun attack in Mariki yesterday morning.

The fatality was identified as Mohammad Arsani. Wounded was Melchor Bakil. Arsani sustained bullet wounds in the body and died on the spot, while Bakil was shot in the hand and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Initial investigation showed that Arsani and Bakil went to visit his (Arsani’s) children at Sitio Laut-Laut in Mariki. While they were on their way back home at Sitio Sakaya, Mariki, an unidentified man opened fire them.

Police said that Arsani and Bakil were walking along a catwalk when a gunman surfaced and opened fire on them without any word.

Arsani fell on the water while Bakil sustained a bullet wound in the hand.
