The Zonta International Club of Zamboanga City, an international organization of professional and businesswomen, will celebrate its 32ndcharter anniversary tonight at Patio Palmeras.  It will be highlighted with the installation of the new set of officers and induction of its new members. Dr. Milabel Ho,
president of the Western Mindanao State University, will be the guest speaker.

Founded in 1919 at New York, Zonta International is an international organization of professional and business women who uplifts the status of women in her community.  They contribute by doing community services, training, and honoring achievements of women. The Zonta word came from the Teton dialect of the native Sioux American language which means honesty and trustworthiness.

In Zamboanga City, it built the Zonta Ayudahan Center at Canelar that serves as a livelihood and training venue for local women and surrounding communities. Aside from being involved during natural disasters, Zonta Zamboanga has also built a housing project at Boalan for the homeless and has been molding women leaders and achievers. 

To be installed as president is civic and religious leader Pilar Torres together with PNB Manager Evelyn Balbon as her  president-elect. Other officers are Syra Ong (vice-president), Ophelia Gayanilo (recording secretary, Rosella Tan (corresponding secretary),  Rita Ong (treasurer ) and Tita Corteza (PIO).

The new Board of Directors is Dr. Mila Fernandez, Dr. Cely Tan, Dr. Bernie Santiago, and Rowena Tan being the IPP (Immediate Past President). The new members to be inducted are Lyn Sy, Jennifer Que, Fatima Bagis III, Cherry Belle Chua, Mary Sharon Ty, Charina San Luis, Bella Tandoc, and Sheila Marie Tan.
