Mayor Celso Lobregat will lead city and school officials in the inauguration of the newly constructed two-storey 10-classroom building amounting to P10.7 million at Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School in Sta. Maria.

Construction of the school building project started on August 9, 2011 and was completed last February 20, this year by GHR Construction Company. The project cost the city government a total of P10,733,066.91.

The inauguration of the project today augurs well for DPLMHS barely a day after  the opening of classes for school year 2012-13, noting that the school has a big student population of 7,000 last year.

Las Friday, Lobregat also unveiled and turned over to Talon-Talon National High School not only one but two buildings of two-storey eight-classrooms each amounting to a total of P16.5 million.

On Wednesday, Lobregat will inaugurate yet another school building project, this time at San Jose Gusu Elementary School with two-storey four-classroom costing the local government a total amount of P3,229,369.83.

It can be recalled, the city government under Lobregat’s administration has embarked on massive education-related infrastructure projects totaling over P800 million over the last five years. — Vic Larato
