A tricycle driver was shot dead by one of two men aboard a motorcycle along Tumaga-Putik road at dawn yesterday.

Police said the slain tricycle driver remained unidentified as of press times as no documents were found in his possession during ocular investigation.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was driving a tricycle under the name of Fernando Valles of Culianan with a female passenger negotiating the Tumaga-Putik road when two men riding tandem on a motorcycle chased him and the backrider shot him five times.

Bystanders told the police that the female passenger jumped from the tricycle and ran towards a house near the place of incident.
The gunmen disappeared after the incident, witnesses said.

Police said the woman was described as in her mid 30s, with white complexion and sporting long hair.

Recovered from the crime scene were four spent shells and one slug of .45 caliber pistol.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds in the head and legs.

Police investigators were still trying to locate the woman for her to possibly shed light on the killing. They want know if she has a relation with the victim as they saw some messages on the cell phone of the victim which were apparently a conversation with a woman before the shooting took place.

The nody was brought to a funeral parlor for post mortem examination. –Dan Toribio Jr.
