A teenager was brutally  killed by a farmer after she refused to give him a kiss at Sitio Kamalig, Upper Tamion, Vitali yesterday morning.

The killer was arrested by men of the Vitali Police Station in less than an hour after the incident.

Sr. Insp. Joel Tuttuh identified the fatality as Cristina Afable, 19, single. Tuttuh said the killer, Arnel Fernando, 21, single, was arrested during a hot pursuit operation at their residence.

The station chief disclosed that Fernando had been courting Afable before the bloody affair took place.

Around 7 a.m. yesterday, Afable and her mother were walking at Sitio Kamalig, Upper Tamion when Fernando appeared and asked her for a kiss.
Afable turned down his request prompting Fernando to pull a bolo and hacked her several times.

Police said that Afable’s mother managed to run away while her daughter was being hacked mercilessly by Fernando.

Tuttuh said that after they received the report, they mounted a hot pursuit operation that resulted in the arrest of Fernando. He was detained at the Vitali Police Station pending the filing of charges against him in court. —  Dan Toribio Jr.
