A army outpost commander was shot to death by a militiaman at Sitio Bahandi, Calabasa last Tuesday night.

Killed was MSgt. Benjamin Ferrer. He was reportedly shot by Elpidio Reyes, a volunteer of the Civilian Armed Auxiliary, who escaped after the incident.
Curuan Police Station commander Chief Insp. Ricardo Garcia disclosed that Reyes  arrived at the outpost and was apparently under the influence of liquor.
Ferrer confronted him on his condition and they figured in a heated argument.

Amid their altercation, Reyes grabbed an M14 rifle and shot Ferrer at close range.

Ferrer sustained a bullet wound in the stomach and was rushed to the Cristino Paragas Memorial Hospital wher he expired while undergoing treatment.
Garcia said they were still hunting for Reyes. — Dan Toribio Jr.
