Volunteer poll watch dog will convene in Zamboanga City on June 13 to map out plans to ensure clean, honest, accurate, meaningful and peaceful (CHAMP) elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) ARMM coalition will convene at the Garden Orchid Hotel with Interior and Local Governments Secretary Jesse Robredo, former Commission on Elections Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal, acting ARMM Regional Governor Mujib Hataman and Steven Rood, Country Representative of The Asia Foundation, as guests of honor and speakers, according to PPCRV national chair Ambassador Henrietta de Villa.

The two-day gathering aims to revitalize the PPCRV ARMM Coalition into a pro-active state of mission, help ensure a credible, fraud-free new Book of Voters for the ARMM through Clean Honest Accurate Meaningful Peaceful (CHAMP) – General Registration and to pave the way for ARMM Elections 2013 Roadmap.

De Villa said Gov. Hataman will talk about his vision of reforming ARMM electoral processes, while Larrazabal will discuss about the imperatives of having new ARMM book of voters.

De Villa, meanwhile, will talk about what is the interest of PPCRV, its involvement and investment in the new ARMM.

President Aquino’s personal envoy to stakeholders’ efforts in reforming electoral processes in ARMM, Secretary Robredo, will speak about the commitment of local government units and the PNP in attaining CHAMP in ARMM.

Fr. David Procalla, PPCRV regional chair for ARMM, said Rood will share his insights on the Asia Foundation’s resolve to help attain CHAMP in ARMM through various initiatives and interventions with PPCRV.

ARMM is composed of the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, which in recent years have been known as the country’s election cheating capital.
