Fabian sponsors blood-letting in Talon-Talon PDF Print E-mail

Amid the dengue outbreak in Zamboanga City, the Barangay Council of Talon-Talon and Congressman Erbie A. Fabian will conduct a blood-letting activity in Talon-Talon tomorrow, Sunday.

In response to the call of the Philippine Red Cross-Zamboanga City Chapter, the Talon-Talon Barangay Council and Rep. Fabian initiate this blood letting project which will in a way help increase the supply of blood of the PRC which is essential for dengue victims in the city.

Talon-Talon Kagawad and broadcast-journalist Teodyver Arquiza, the organizer of the said activity, disclosed that the project is one of the public service programs of their community.    Arquiza urged the residents of the barangay to participate and be part in sharing blood and giving life to those residents who were victimized by dengue.

Arquiza said that aside from the mass blood donation, there will be “Libreng Gupit” (free haircut) for the children of blood donors who are expected to be part of the activity.

The free haircut will be on a first-come first serve basis until noon time.

Fabian, who is a nurse by profession, revealed that giving blood is a form of living a healthy lifestyle, saying that when one donates blood, his blood cells becomes revitalized, making him active, younger and healthy.

He encourages residents of Talon-Talon and nearby barangays to take part in the activity that will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Talon-Talon Elementary School.
