A Philippine Marines soldier was shot and wounded by one of two men along Crispin Atilano St., in Tetuan at dawn yesterday.

Wounded was PFC Ernesto Bernardo Singson, Jr. of the Marine Battalion Landing Team 11, single, of Maluso, Basilan.

A sketchy police report disclosed that Singson was at the Catribo Bar along Buenavista St. when somebody called him in his cell phone. He left the bar and proceeded to Crispin Atilano St.

Police said that when Singson arrived in Tetuan, two men who were described as young and medium built  appeared and one of them shot him several times.

Singson sustained multiple bullet wounds in the body and was taken to the hospital.

DZT gathered that Singson had received text messages from an unknown texter who was threatening him.

Police were looking into love angle as the motive behind the shooting. – Dan Toribio Jr.
