Men of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company led by Supt. The team confiscated 50 flitches of good lumber in different sizes, two powersaws, a Garand rifle loaded with seven rounds of ammunition, a .38 cal. revolver with six bullets in the cylinder and five “bogas”.

Gadayan said the CENRO personnel and their team proceeded in the area after they have received report about the ongoing illegal logging activities thereat.

Said that when they arrived at the quarter of the illegal loggers, one of them tried to pull out his .38 cal. revolver, but he was immediately subdued by one of his men who confiscated his gun.

The lawmen and the CENRO personnel checked the entire area where the illegal logging was taking place and found out that a large part of it was already treeless.

The three suspects were detained at the central police station while the seized lumber flitches were brought to the CENRO for safekeeping.
