2 arrested for carrying gun, bolo PDF Print E-mail

Men of the PNP’s Zamboanga City Public Safety Company under Supt. William Gadayan arrested two men for possession of firearm and another deadly weapon at a checkpoint in Sta. Catalina last Thursday night.

Gadayan identified those arrested as Nasser Amil y Hamjudan, 35, a security guard assigned at the port area and a resident of Upper Calarian, and Rajis Omar y Saupi, 35, of Binarao Drive, Sta. Catalina.

Recovered from Amil’s possession was a big bolo, while Omar yielded a a .45 caliber pistol.

The suspects were detained at the central police station while the gun was forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for ballistic examination.
Gadayan said they will file appropriate charges against the suspects.

It was learned that the suspects were allegedly planning to kill somebody in the area.

Police added that Omar was recently cleared by the court of drug charge.
