Men of the City Police Office’s Investigation Section under Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines arrested yesterday afternoon a man who shot and wounded his brother-in-law in San Jose,  this city last Friday night.

Khadafy Balahim, 29, was arrested with a stolen motorcycle after a road chase around the city.

While trying to escape from pursuing policemen, Balahim stole a Honda XRM motorcycle at gunpoint from Arnel Parado near Ciudad Medical Center along Nuñez Extension yesterday. He was cornered along San Jose Road.

Delumpines’ men confiscated from Balahim’s possession a .45 caliber pistol which he used in shooting Edgar Unsang y Linhua at the latter’s house in San Jose

Unsang sustained bullet wounds in the abdomen and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Initial investigation disclosed that Unsang and his wife were inside their house around 11 p.m. when Balahim broke in and shot him at close range.

Police said that Unsang’s wife was not hit by a bullet although she was beside her husband during the gun attack.

Balahim hurriedly left the place after shooting Unsang, who was rushed to the hospital.

Investigators were looking at personal dispute as the motive behind the gun attack.  — Dan Toribio Jr.
