Instead of a big bash to celebrate his birthday yesterday, Zamboangueño businessman Jomar Lobregat spend the day with the abandoned and neglected children now under the care of the Social Development Center.

Almost 80 children, with ages between 6-15, were feted to lunch, fun and excitement at the Camp Limbaga in Pasonanca by Jomar Lobregat in celebration of his 56th birthday. The extravaganza was complete with the appearance of mascots who danced and mingled with the group to the kids’ delight.

Lobregat said spending his birthday with the children was his way of thanking the Lord for the blessings and at the same time a show of support to the city government which runs the Social Development Center.

“We are thankful that we are given this opportunity to share to the children. As you can see they are so happy. We just want to show that we are supportive of all the programs of the present city administration”, Lobregat said in an interview with reporters.

He said being with children is propitious, as children give hope to the country. “They are our hope for the future, so let us let them enjoy and have fun”.

Accompanying Jomar Lobregat during the distribution of the foodstuffs and other kiddie items were his elder brother, Mayor Celso Lobregat, Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde, Councilors Mike Alavar, Percival Ramos, Eddie Saavedra and VP Elago, City Social Welfare Officer Francisco Barredo, whose office is in charge of the management of SDC and SDC staff.
