Mayor Celso Lobregat has issued an executive order rerouting traffic and temporary naming Tumaga-Putik Road as a one-way street from its junction with Tumaga main road to its junction with Maria Clara L. Lobregat Highway.

Lobregat issued the executive order following the implementation of a project by the city government for the concreting of a section of the affected road. The project implementation started from July 3 to July 31.

Thus, to avoid vehicular traffic in the area and upon the request of the contractor, Absolute Engineering & Supplies, the City Administrator recommended to the mayor the issuance the issuance of the executive order that took effect July 3 until the project is completed by July 31.

Under EO No. CL 461-2012, all motor vehicles coming from Maria Clara L. Lobregat Highway shall not be allowed to enter Putik-Tumaga Road, but shall be advised to use Sun St. (Lunzuran-Tumaga Road) in going to Tumaga.

But all motor vehicles coming from Tumaga may be allowed to use Tumaga-Putik Road in going to MCLL Highway, Putik.

Tumaga residents, whose houses are located within the Tumaga-Putik Road before the project limits (Tuamaga side) can use the road in going down to Tumaga except residents whose houses are located after the project limits (Putik side) , hence they have to go up all the way to Putik either in going to town or to Tumaga via Lunzuran.

The executive order also directed the contractor to field personnel to assists in the traffic management on the affected road, and to put up appropriate road signage.

The police were likewise directed to implement the executive order with the assistance of the traffic aides of the city government and barangay tanod of Tumaga and Putik. — Vic Larato
