Two alleged notorious pickpockets who were arrested by men of the Investigation Section led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines were committed to the Zamboanga City Reformatory Center, the other day.

Gigih Minor and Bennajar Hadjirul were taken to the city jail following a court order under Criminal Case No. 26848 with recommended bail bond of P20,000 each for high robbery.

A police report disclosed that Evangeline Francisco, 22, of Canelar appeared at the central police station last July 3 around 8 p.m. and reported that an unidentified man picked her two wallets containing P20,000 and make-up kit while she and her companion were walking along La Purisima St.

Francisco told the police that the suspect was known to her by face.  She gave to the investigators the description of the suspect.

Right after the investigation, policemen led by Delumpines conducted a follow-up operation in Kasalamatan resulting in the arrest of Minor and Hadjirul.
The victim positively identified Hadjirul and Minor as the ones who took her two wallets.

The suspects were taken to the city prosecutor office for inquest proceeding. The case was raffled off to the sala of Regional Trial Court Judge Peter Eisma who subsequently issued a warrant of arrest and commitment order to the city jail. – Dan Toribio Jr.
