Zamboangueños for the Transformation of Zamboanga (ZTZ) founder Romeo “Nonong” Jalosjos has cited the importance of faculty development in the educational system.

Jalosjos said it is not enough that the local government conduct infrastructure projects like building school edifices or school fences. “What is more important is the welfare and advancement of teachers, “ he said.

Jalosjos, who is the mayoralty aspirant of ZTZ, said faculty development is part of ZTZ’s 25-point agenda by providing scholarships to teachers to pursue their masteral and doctoral degrees.

He said the competence of teachers should be upgraded and improved through faculty development program that the local government can introduce if there are not enough from other government and private educational institutions.

ZTZ has promised to address the infrastructure needs as well as the needs of teachers and pupils.

“If we have competent teachers, then we’ll produce competent students,” ZTZ’s 25-point agenda stated.
