Chinese trader shot dead by holduppers PDF Print E-mail

A Chinese businesswoman was shot to death by a holdupper along Tomas Claudio St., Barangay Zone III last Monday night.

The fatality was identified as Miao Shi y Rong, 50, married. She owned cell phone stores in the city.

Miao sustained a gunshot wound in the left shoulder and was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center where she died while undergoing treatment.

Initial investigation disclosed that Miao was walking on her way to their rented apartment around 7:50 p.m. when three gunmen appeared  and grabbed her shoulder bag containing valuables like jewelry and money fronting the barangay hall of Zone III.

Miao resisted and tried to get back her bag prompting one of the holduppers to shoot her.

The gunman and his two cohorts ran away with the bag.

Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines, chief of the Investigation Section, and his men,  have mounted follow-up operations for the arrest of the killers.

Delumpines said they were trying to get the footage of the CCTV in the area to determine the identity of the killers. – Dan Toribio Jr.
