A 56-year-old man was arrested for firing his gun indiscriminately and for violation of the Comelec gun ban in Cabatangan last Tuesday night.

Nabbed was Rodolfo Delos Reyes y Gaganacruz, married. Recovered from his possession was a .357 caliber revolver with two bullets and one spent shell inside the cylinder.

A police report disclosed that Nevita Trinidad y Solo, 34, married, of Lumbang, Cabatangan reported to the Sta. Maria Police Station that Delos Reyes fired his gun indiscriminately which caused panic in the area.

Acting on the report, policemen rushed to the place and arrested Delos Reyes.

During investigation, police learned that Delos Reyes figured in a heated argument with Nevita’s mother-in-law Maura Trinidad y Atilano. It was learned that Trinidad’s pig destroyed the plants of Delos Reyes.

Amid their argument, Delos Reyes went inside his house and then fired his revolver indiscriminately.

Delos Reyes was detained at the Sta. Maria Police Station while the confiscated gun was turned over to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for ballistic and comparative examinations. — Dan Toribio Jr.
