A 73-year-old man died after he was accidentally bumped and ran over by two motorcycles whose drivers were both injured along Lobregat Highway in Culianan last Thursday afternoon.

PO3 Excel Maravilla, case investigator identified the fatality as Rolando Mendoza y Cunanan, widow. was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

A police report disclosed that Mendoza had just come out of Nazareth Drive, Culianan aboard a bicycle. He crossed the highway going to the other lane heading west.

Maravilla said that when Mendoza reached the lane leading east, he was accidentally bumped by a Honda XRM motorcycle driven by Sgt. Leo Gonzales, a marine soldier who was heading east.

Mendoza fell and Gonzales crashed on the pavement.

In a speed of seconds, another motorcycle driven by Jonas Limen who was heading east ran over Mendoza who was at that time lying on the road.
Limen’s motorcycle rammed the left side of a passenger jeepney which going on the same direction.

Limen’s motorcycle crashed because of the impact and he was thrown away.

Gonzales and Limen also sustained minors injuries in the body and were taken to the hospital for medication.

Maravilla said that both Gonzales and Limen were placed under investigation while all the vehicles involved in the accident were impounded. – Dan Toribio Jr.
