P2.6 million daylight holdup along Alfaro St. PDF Print E-mail

Holduppers struck at broad daylight yesterday robbing two companies of some P2.6 million in check and cash along Don Alfaro St., Tetuan yesterday morning.

Three employees of Southern Mindanao Enterprises and Wellmar Marketing were on their way to the bankfrom the company office in Talon-Talon Loop aboard a Mitsubishi L-300 van around 10 a.m. when two men riding tandem on a black Honda Alpha motorcycle blocked their path at Don Alfaro St. near the abandoned Alta Mall.

At gunpoint, the two men announced a holdup and demanded from the employees the company money they are supposed to deposit in a bank.

The heist happened so fast with the holduppers speeding away with P2 million in check and P653,000 in cash (P298,000 — Southern Mindanao Enterprises) and (P355 million Wellmar).

Two of the three employees were still at the central police station under interrogation.

Police said the holduppers were armed with a .45 caliber pistol.

Investigators are looking into several possible leads including an “inside job.” —  Dodong Ramos
