Fishing boat seized for illegal fishing PDF Print E-mail

Men of the Sacol Police Station led by Chief Insp. Nonito Asdai apprehended a fishing boat called “hulbot-hulbot” for illegal fishing off Pasilmanta, last Friday afternoon.

Policemen were conducting seaborne patrol around 4 p.m. when they spotted a fishing boat fishing less than 15 kilometers radius from required fishing ground.

Asdai’s team seized the fishing boat and held the 14 crew men  who were placed under investigation.

Asdai said they confiscated eight fish buckets loaded with catch fish, 12 empty fish buckets, a fishnet, two big rounded stainless rings and the fishing boat.

He identified the crew men as Rojun Barrios, boat captain, Mark Isnani, Julime Diaz, Marlon Dizon, Sonnyboy Uros, Mukim Yakin, Isoy Becoy, Elel Arete, Bon Bon Arete, Bere Santilkan, Ronel Villanueva, Bobong Tasing, Oscar Unos and Alemar Oniog.

The crew men were placed under investigation while the seized items were turned over to investigators for the filing of appropriate charges in court. – Dan Toribio Jr.
