House Deputy Speaker and District 1 Representative Beng Climaco extends her well wishes to Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho who will be formally presented with her title as fifth president of the Western Mindanao State University during investiture rites at 2pm today.

“May WMSU be taken to higher ground through her leadership”, Cong. Climaco said stressing “we pray that this will bring more opportunities for the students and teachers to better our education in the city”.

Cong. Climaco is expected to grace Dr. Ho’s investiture along with Cong. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, who is the chairperson of the House Committee on Higher and Technical Education.

Dr. Ho is taking over the WMSU presidency from Dr. Grace Rebollos whose term expired last September.  Dr. Ho was elected to the position April 16.
Climaco said WMSU is one of the pillars of higher education in the region and Dr. Ho’s assumption as the new president is expected to bring more prospects for the betterment of the university.

The lady solon has been very supportive of the cause of WMSU, such that she has advocated for the increase of the budget of the only state university in the region including other state colleges based in the city.

At present, Climaco has an ongoing project—the multi-purpose covered court inside the WMSU campus, which she initiated and funded through her priority development fund.

The investiture ceremony set at 2pm today at the Dr. Juanito Bruno gymnasium will be presided by officials from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in Manila.
