Man arrested on rape complaint filed by 12-year-old girl PDF Print E-mail

Operatives of the City Police Office’s Women and Children Section under Sr. Insp. Gemma Luna arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly raping a girl during an entrapment operation in Tugbungan last week.

Luna identified the suspect as Rhygel Domantay y Arcillas, married, of Canelar, this city.

A police report disclosed that Domantay was nabbed by police around 5:30 p.m. at Morning Breeze, Tugbungan.

Initial investigation disclosed that a 12-year-old girl had filed a complaint with the police against Domantay for allegedly raping her.

The girl said the incident happened whenever she was at the house of Domantay in Canelar. The girl was reportedly working part-time at the suspect’s residence.

The girl said that Domantay raped her while she was at their house and she was being threatened not to report the incident.

Last Friday, Domantay was scheduled to fetch again the girl at their residence in Tugbungan and immediately policemen set-up an entrapment operation.

Moments later, Domantay arrived at the girl’s house where he was collared by the police.

Luna said they will file charges against Domantay for violation of Republic Act 8353 and RA 7610. — Dan Toribio Jr.
