PNP to crackdown on dangerous 'crackers PDF Print E-mail

The PNP's Firearms Explosives Security Agency Guards Section (FESAGS) has received from Camp Crame Letter of Instruction No. 56/2010 setting up guidelines  on “Iwas Paputok/ Disgrasya" during the yuletide and special holiday season.

FESAGS 9 Commander Chief Insp. Larry Domingo reported to the new PRO-9 Director, Chief Supt. Elpidio De Asis Jr.,  that the Civil Security Group in Camp Crame has tasked him to organize a special team to seize illegally manufactured firecrackers and pyrotechnics and to conduct inspection of all local factories, dealers and retailers of  firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices and seized the products if they have no permit to produce.

Domingo said his office will seize firecrackers and pyrotechnics that may cause harm to the  environment, properties and hazardous to the health of every human being especially this yuletide season.

He said his office will also confiscate foreign manufactured and dangerous firecrackers and  pyrotechnics.

According to Domingo, the PNP is now gradually eradicating the use of firecrackers and pyrotechnics that always cause harm to the environment and are hazardous to health as well as causing destruction to lives and properties most especially every New Year's Eve revelries.

He revealed that firecrakers and pyrotechnics are banned in Davao City and other cities in the country.

Meanwhile, Domingo appealed to gun holders who applied for the gun amnesty program to claim their licenses at Camp Batalla along RT Lim Boulevard.
