Close to 950,000 voters enlisted themselves in the ongoing general voters’ registration in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) as of Sunday, according to Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Sixto Brillantes.

“Almost 950,000 ang nakaregister as of end of Sunday, may three days at an average of 100,000 a day,“ he said.

Brillantes said they expect to register between 1.3 and 1.4 million voters at the end of the 10-day registration, which started last July 8.

“Ang inexpect naming na maalis mga 300,000 siguro or 400,000. yan ang expectation ko, 1.3 to 1.4 million ang magiging final list,” he said.
Brillantes noted that they will wait for the numbers of the last day of registration.

“Hintayin natin ang turnout sa last day usually kasi dyan ang madami sa last day,” he said.

The Comelec chief also reported that the ongoing registration has been generally peaceful except for some isolated cases.
“Tahimik na tahimik except for some isolated incidence,” he said.
