House Deputy Speaker and District I Representative Beng Climaco has allocated P1.5 million for the construction of a mini-grandstand at the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) in line with her program on education and youth development.

As this developed, ZSCMST president Dr. Milavel Nazario has expressed gratitude to Cong. Climaco for her support and assistance to the college saying it will be a big boost to the college’s fulfilment of its mandate covering all aspects or areas.

Dr. Nazario said people from the Department of Public Works and Highways have started laying the ground work for the project, funded by the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Cong. Climaco.

“The proposed mini-grandstand courtesy of Cong. Climaco will be located right in our main campus”, the ZSCMST president said. “Thank you Ma’am Beng, the P1.5 million project is on the way”.

She said the proposed project is a promise fulfilled by the lady solon, who has seen the need to for an area where ZSCMST students will use for sports activities and other similar events.

Climaco said the mini-grandstand project forms part of her efforts to give the youth sector better quality of education and ultimately to ensure a better future for the young generation.

“Let us help make the future of our children a reality today”, is the congresswoman’s battle cry and the support and assistance to the education sector is one way of fulfilling this call.

Other public elementary and secondary schools as well as institutions of higher learning are also recipients of the education programs of Cong. Climaco.

An P11 million multi-purpose covered court is underway at the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) and is expected to be completed in September.

ZSCMST president Nazario said she is very grateful to Cong. Climaco as well as to Mayor Celso Lobregat, who has also initiated the construction of the 17-door apartment type dormitory inside the school campus, for their continued support and assistance.

“In return, the ZSCMST could do no less than show in many other ways how it could fulfil its mandate in the areas of instruction, research and extension to better serve not only the people of Zamboang aCity and Western Mindanao and even beyond its primary service area”, Dr. Nazario added. — Marvin Segura
