The Army’s 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division based in Camp Sang-an, Pulacan, Labangan Zamboanga del  Sur honored Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Rommel R. Jalosjos in a testimonial parade and review  during a flag-raising ceremony last Monday.

Gov. Jalosjos  aboard a military vehicle was escorted by the 1st Tabak Division Commanding General Maj. Gen. Ricardo Rainier G. Cruz III during a  pass in review parade. The military honor for Jalosjos was attended by brigade and battalion commanders of the Division.

Gen. Cruz thanked Gov. Jalosjos for all the support and assistance to his command and  to the Armed Forces of the Philippines as a whole.

“All our  endeavors and activities for the good and benefits of the people are very fruitful and successful with the full support of Gov. Jalosjos,” said Cruz.

He explained that his command has many fruitful accomplishments with the support of Gov. Jalosjos.

He cited the  medical and dental reach out, tree planting , coastal clean-up in Zamboanga Sibugay as among the activities supported by Jalosjos.

“Our mission and task under our areas of responsibilities from Region9, Region 10 and Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao  are very  successful with the full support of Gov. Jalosjos. The big help of Gov. Jalosjos was able to spread by my soldiers to the less fortunate and the victims of calamities in  our AOR. We are here as partner for peace and progress with  different  local government units of Western Mindanao and other places. We will do our mission and duties for the safety and security of the people. We will stand on guard so that beautiful things for peace and progress will continue to prevail in our
AOR in coordination with other law enforcers of the government,” Cruz said.

Gov. Jalosjos for his part thanked Gen. Cruz for giving him the honor.

He saluted the soldiers for their accomplishment in securing and helping the people under their AOR.

“You risk your life and do your task for God and for the good of our country. You have done excellent things for our country. We should protect the people. I will support and continue support to the 1st Tabak Philppine Army and the Philippine National Police, Thank you for securing the people of Sibugay,”Jalosjos said.

He continued:” Before I became a Governor, I dream of excellence and success. I  started as a dishwasher in Australia before I became an Executive Chef. I experienced difficulties in life. My goal is to achieve peace in life, community development, dialogue, insertion of positive things in life.  I’m now a  Governor and a public servant. We should  serve and protect the people.” — Allen Abastillas
