A suspect in the kidnapping of a Zamboangueña businesswoman in Labuan in March last year was arrested by policemen in Tetuan, this city last Thursday.
Policemen led by SPO1 Rogel G. Estandian served a warrant of arrest to Usman Danduh Caril alias Buyung Caril of Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte.

The warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 14 Judge Reynerio G. Estacio for the crime of kidnapping and serious illegal detention in connection with the abduction of Olivia Angeles Barredo,37, who was seized by four gunmen outside their residence in Labuan in the evening of March 3. She and her husband were alighting from their pickup truck  after coming from their drug store when the gunmen blocked their path and grabbed her at gunpoint. The kidnappers shot her relatives but missed.

Barredo was released by her captors a month after in R.T. Lim municipality, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Barredo was released by her kidnappers along the highway in RT Lim.

Olivia told authorities that she was blindfolded almost all the time when she was in captivity and was put to a pumpboat ride several times, apparently to prevent detection by pursuing government forces out to rescue her.
