Operatives of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company under the supervision of Supt. William Gadayan arrested an army soldier for possession of a questionable gun inside a mall at La Purisima St. yesterday morning.

Gadayan identified the soldier as PFC Sakkar Taha, married, of the Army’s 44th Infantry Division based in Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte.

Taha entered the Mindpro Citimall and deposited his .45 caliber pistol at the duty security guard.

The attention of the policemen detailed at the said place was called after Taha failed to deposit documents to the security guard along with his gun.

Policemen approached and talked to Taha but still he failed to show papers for his gun as well special permit from the Commission on Elections.

Taha was taken to the ZCPSC for proper investigation while his gun was turned over to the duty investigator. — Dan Toribio Jr.
