A carpenter and part-time habal-habal driver was shot dead by one of two men who took his motorcycle after killing him in Sta. Filomena Drive, Sitio Mulu-Muluan, Mercedes at past noon yesterday

In another incident, a meat house worker was shot and wounded by two holduppers in the interior part of Nuñez Extension last Monday night.

Killed was Pilardo Ginete, 50, married, a resident of Zone 1, Barangay Mercedes. He sustained a bullet wound in the head and died on the spot.

DZT gathered that an unidentified man boarded Ginete’s XRM motorcycle at Zone 1, Mercedes and told him to take him to Sitio Mulu-Muluan.  When they reached Sta. Filomena Drive at the interior part of Mulu-Muluan, another man who was waiting along the road stopped them.

The man suddenly pulled out a handgun and pumped a bullet into Ginete’s head at close range.

The gunman along with the man boarded the victim’s motorcycle sped towards the inner part of Mulu-Muluan.

Several months ago, another habal-habal driver was shot dead by two men near Sta. Filomena Drive, Mulu-Muluan. They also took his motorcycle.

Meanwhile, Joel Loyna, 33, of Callejon Drive, Guiwan was shot and wounded by two suspected holduppers at the back of a private hospital around 9:45 p.m.

Loyna was walking along the place when two men appeared and announced a heist.

Loyna managed to run but the two men shot him in the body.

The gunmen escaped after shooting Loyna, who was rushed to the hospital. – Dan Toribio Jr.
