Six men, caught hoding shabu session in Sta. Catalina last Thursday were arrested by men of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company under Supt. William Gadayan.

Gadayan identified those arrested as Arasad Jumaide y Sapie, 44, married of Paraiso Homes Subdivision, Tumaga, Roland Falcasantos y Siason, 37, married of Boalan, Joebert Buscas y Bautista, 27, married of Boalan, Raul Candido y Dela Cruz, 32, single of GUiwan, Leopoldo Falcasantos y Francisco, 37, married of Boalan and Melvin Constantino y Francisco, 37, of Boalan.

Confiscated from their possession were two small sachets of shabu, one strip of aluminum foil, rolled tissue paper and several other drug paraphernalia.
The six men were taken to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for drug test and were later detained at the central police station for filing of charges against them.

Gadayan disclosed that his men led by Sr. Insp. Jade Gultiano Mandi were conducting operations against illegal gambling in Sta. Catalina when by chanced upon the group sniffing shabu in a small shanty. Immediately the team surrounded the area and arrested the six men.

It was learned that all the suspects are jeepney drivers who chipped in their money to buy shabu. – Dan Toribio Jr.
