Mejia disclosed that Alvarez’ and of Solon’s teams  swooped down on the resort after receiving a report on the presence of Maldisa.

In a report to Mejia, Alvarez said that Maldisa was tagged in the kidnapping and slay attempt on two police “assets” last June 22, this year.

Alvarez and his men were able to rescue the two police “assets” who were being taken by Maldisa’s four companions to the west coast where they were supposed to execute the two “assets.”.

Alvarez and his police team recovered high-powered firearms from the possession of the four suspects. It was learned that Maldisa was not with the four men during their arrest.

The four men were committed to the Zamboanga City City Jail. The court also issued a commitment order for Maldisa after he was implicated by the four men  to the slay attempt against the two police “assets”.

Before Maldisa’s arrest, Alvarez had received a report that he (Maldisa) and his companion have been staying at the resort-for two days and they were reportedly smoking shabu inside their room.

The police team recovered from Maldisa’s possession several drug paraphernalia, a “baby” M-16 rifle and a .45 caliber pistol with rounds of ammunition.

Mejia said that Maldisa was able produce document for the possession of the guns.

Mejia said that Maldisa’s female companion will be also charged of violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Drug Act of 2005.
