City Police Director Sr. Supt. James Mejia yesterday disclosed that the Sta. Maria police station has forwarded to the City Prosecutor Office a double murder case  against the gunmen who shot and killed two businessmen two weeks.

Mejia identified one of the two suspects as Rolando Jumawan, of Kalbaryo, Isabela City.

A police report disclosed that no less than the wives of the slain victims stood as primary complainants against Jumawan and his John Doe companion.

Jumawan’s name came out during a relentless investigation of the case carried out by the Sta. Maria Police Station led by Chief Insp. Larry Domingo.
Jumawan was linked to the killing of George Lu Yap and Melchor Napalcruz Revilla last July 26 around 2:40 p.m.

A police report said the filing of the case described as “regular filing” where all the evidences and sworn statements of the witnesses and forwarding report were submitted to the City Prosecutor Office.

The suspects remain at large, but the police assured that they will be arrested as soon the court will issue the warrant of arrest.

Yap and Revilla were riding a motorcycle on their way to Pasonanca when two men aboard another motorcycle appeared and the backrider opened fire on them near a pension house-restaurant along Sta. Maria road. – Dan Toribio Jr.
