Sibugay police into rubber tree production PDF Print E-mail

Men of the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office led by Officer-in-Charge Sr. Supt. Jonathan Perez on Saturday put up soil in thousands of polybags for rubber tree seedlings and the establishment of nursery site in Barangay  Culasian in the municipality of Titay.

The area is under the Zamboanga Peninsula Peacekeeper Rubber Producers Cooperative (ZAMPEN ) for Police Regional Office 9 policemen.

ZAMPEN  was conceptualized by Sibugay Governor Rommel A. Jalosjos and Police Regional Director Elpidio Z. De Asis Jr.. It is a project of the Philippine National Police under the  program of Gov. Jalosjos called RAJTREE (Rommel A. Jalosjos Tripartite Rubber Enhancement Expansion Program).

RAJTREE will conduct trainings and seminars for policemen on soil cleaning, soil poly bagging, lay-outing of plantation, seedlings buddings, plantation, maintenance, tapping and harvesting of rubber latex from trees.

During lectures by RAJTREE ubber tree experts last Saturday, policemen were very enthusiastic and eager to learn the new technics on rubber tree production.

Sr. Supt. Perez thanked Gov. Jalosjos for the fruitful activity conducted by the RAJTREE experts.

The government owned land in Culasian measures 500,000 hectares. Twenty thousand hectares are nursery area. It has a panoramic view with of the mountain with natural forest facing the east and a spring brook and spring river. — Allen Abastillas
