Accountant’s office at Zambo Norte town hall robbed PDF Print E-mail

Police are investigating a robbery that took place at the Municipal Accountant Office inside the Katipunan Municipal Hall, Zamboanga del Norte  wherein four vaults containing undetermined amount of money were destroyed and ransacked by robbers last weekend.

A police report disclosed that the incident occurred last Sunday and was discovered Monday morning when employees reported for work at the accountant’s office.

Upon learning of the incident, OIC- Municipal Accountant Urdaneta Madridondo immediately reported the incident to the police.

Investigation showed that the intruders gained entry through the main door using master keys to unlock the door.

When they managed to get into the office, the intruders destroyed the four vaults where money was kept.

It was not revealed how much money was carted away by the intruders pending further investigation while the robbers’ identities are yet to be established.
Meanwhile, a man and his son were held up by two unidentified persons in Baliguian Zamboanga del Norte, last Monday.

Bread vendors Timoteo Portalio, 59, and his son Jayson, were selling bread when they were held up by gunmen wearing bonnets. They latter raan away with P2, 600. —  Noning R. Antonio
