The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) formally handed-over cash rewards to informants instrumental to the neutralization of five Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG)leaders, six members of cohorts operating in Mindanao, and five members of the New People’s Army (NPA), on Wednesday at the General Headquarters Conference Room, here.

The informants played an important part in assisting the AFP in tracking down and neutralizing wanted ASG key leader Albader Parad with a P7.4 million-reward money; sub-leaders Ustadz Muhaimin Ismael Latip and Abdulla O Ajijul, who were both tagged with a P3.3- million reward money; and members Paradja Majirul and Hasirul Baliyung, who carry P350 thousand-reward money. All of them have standing warrants of arrest for kidnapping and serious illegal detention.

Through the cooperation of the informants, the AFP was also able to neutralize terrorist cohorts operating in Mindanao. Captured were rogue MILF elements sub-leader Nabel M Pantaran and Special Operations Group (SOG) members Camarodin Hadji Ali who carry P1.2M reward money; and SOG members Ustadz Abdulbayan Guimblang and Badrudin Dalungan who both have P600 thousand.

SOG member Baguir Maliga Sampao,on the other hand, was killed during a combat operation; he carries a P350 thousand-reward money. They have standing warrants of arrest for murder, frustrated and attempted murder, arson, kidnapping and serious illegal detention.

Five NPA members were also captured; Tirso Alcantara and Maria Luisa M Purcray who carry a P2.6 million-reward money, Cirila Estrada who carries P1.3 million reward, Gelina Villanueva who carries P1.2M reward, and Gerry C. Esquivel who carries P55thousand reward money. They have standing warrants of arrest for murder, multiple murder, frustrated and attempted murder, kidnapping, and damage to government property.

The AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, J2, Major General Francisco N. Cruz assisted Gen. Dellosa in handing over the AFP-funded reward money.

“We are grateful to all the informants who played an important part in assisting the AFP in tracking down and neutralizing key leaders, sub-leaders and members of these armed threats,” Dellosa said.

“These were realized as the IPSP Bayanihan is taking its course through the cooperation of our partners, civilians and government agencies alike. In the spirit of Bayanihan, we urge our citizens to do their part and be more vigilant because the fight against terrorism and lawless elements is everybody’s concern,” Dellosa concluded.
