Alavar brings feeding series to Lumiyap PDF Print E-mail

Councilor Miguel “Mike” Alavar III’s feeding program recently reached Sitio Lumiyap, Barangay Divisoria where more than 200 children were fed and adults received medicines and vitamins last Tuesday.

The one-day activity was held in cooperation with Mr. Arnold Sotto of the Food Processors Association of Zamboanga (FPAZ), who is incidentally a resident of Lumiyap, Divisoria.

Alavar said the activity started around 9 a.m. and ended before noon.

He described the program as very successful as all of the children in the area were fed.

Alavar and Sotto also distributed vitamins and medicines to the adults who were present during the affair.

Alavar added that aside from feeding children, he is very concern on the health of the people especially in this kind of weather.
He added that the other day he and his staff also fed 200 day-care pupils in two daycare centers in Lunzuran.

The councilor said the recent feeding program was part of the continuous activities that were held in Mampang and Tugbungan some weeks ago where some 400 children were fed.

Meanwhile, District 1Rep. Beng Climaco-Salazar joined Alavar in the feeding program in Lumiyap where she distributed food to the children and pairs of slippers to the adults.

The activity in Lumiyap was supported by the barangay council of Divisoria led by Barangay Chairman Roberto Tubilag.

Lumayang Barangay Chairman Frederick Atilano also manifested his support to Alavar by being present during the activity.

Residents of Lumiyap and the barangay council of Divisoria expressed gratitude to Alavar, Sotto and Rep. Climaco for their concern. – Dan Toribio Jr.
