A restaurant employee was injured after his motorcycle bumped a pedestrian afterwhich he tried to escape but was caught by policemen in Canelar yesterday afternoon.

Jessie Magallano, 32, a native of Dipolog City and working in a restaurant along Nuñez Extension sustained head injuries when his motorcycle crashed on the concrete road.

A police report disclosed Magallano boarded his motorcycle and left the place after he saw the presence of policemen.

Policemen gave chase and cornered him.

Magallano was taken to the hospital and his partially damaged Honda Wave motorcycle was taken to the central police station for investigation.

When interrogated by the police,  Magallano said he borrowed the motorcycle from his friend and he drove it until he figured in the accident at the junction of Mayor Jaldon St. and Gov. Camins Avenue.

He admitted that he tried to elude arrest because he does not have a driver license. — Dan Toribio Jr.
