Celso distributes X’mas gifts to 246 JO workers PDF Print E-mail

In keeping with the Christmas tradition, Mayor Celso Lobregat yesterday shared the joys of the Yuletide season with the city government’s 246 Job Order workers, who are not entitled to the P20,000 yearend productivity bonus granted last week to the regular and contractual employees.

Distributed at the Sunken Garden amid yesterday morning’s drizzles, the Christmas gifts included cash, one sack of rice and assorted grocery items for each of the Job Order workers.

he Job Order workers, according to the chief executive, are those assigned in the different offices, mostly in the City Administrator’s Office, General Services Office, City Mayor’s Office.

They include traffic aides, street sweepers, garbage collectors, parks and garden workers, and clerical staff.

Joining the mayor in the gift distribution were Councilor Nonong Guingona and City Human Resource and Management Officer Erlina Sanchez together with staff, who facilitated the distribution.

Last Saturday, Mayor Lobregat tendered a Christmas party for the barangay officials at a local hotel. Each barangay also received cash and one sack of rice plus other giveaways for each barangay chairman, kagawad and other officials.

Raffles were also drawn and the winners received cash prizes and appliances like television set, refrigerator, electric fans, flat iron and many more, to the delight of the barangay officials.

The party was also sponsored in part by Deputy House Speaker and Congresswoman Beng Climaco-Salazar of District 1, who gave away gift packs to all the barangay officials.

District 2 Congressman Erbie Fabian will have his own Christmas party for the barangay officials this week.

Also present during the said Christmas event were Vice Mayor Cesar Iturralde and some members of the City Council.
