City Police Director Sr. Supt. James Mejia yesterday disclosed that the Sta. Maria police station under Chief Insp. Larry Domingo have identified the two gunmen who shot and killed a former kagawad, his son and their companion along Gov. Ramos Avenue, Sta. Maria last Sunday night.

Mejia said that a multiple murder case was forwarded to the City Prosecutor Office against the two suspects under IS number IX-06-INV-12H-00411 dated August 16, 2012. They were identified as Mahadil Abil alias Khadafy Abil and Ka Abil alias Gordo, both residents of San Roque.

A report reaching Col. Mejia showed that the names of the Abils cropped up while investigators of the Sta. Maria police station were digging up deeper into the case. They were tagged as the gunmen who shot and killed Isabelo “Billy” Sarte, 60, his son Ronald, 24, and their companion Emmanuel Boy Uy.

The suspects were positively identified by some witnesses who cooperated with police investigators who went to the crime scene right after the gun attack.

Mejia added that the suspects are still at large but he assured they will be arrested as soon as the court will issue the warrant.

Sarte, his son and Uy were on their way to Fairview, Sta. Maria aboard two motorcycles when they met the gunmen along the way and engaged them in a heated argument.

Amid the altercation the suspects shot them several times at close range.

Other sources said that the trio had already figured in a heated argument with the suspects earlier while they were at the San Roque cockpit. – Dan Toribio Jr.
