3 men with unlicensed gun nabbed PDF Print E-mail

Men of the City Police Office’s Patrol Section led by Sr. Insp. Domingo Arguilla arrested three men for possession of a questionable firearm along Gov. Lim Avenue last Wednesday night.

In his report to City Police Director Sr. Supt. James Mejia, Arguill identified the three men as Rolando Rodriguez y Solis, 24, Sherwin Bucoy y Cajacan, 21, both of Victoria and Ryan Delos Reyes y Esperat, 22, of Sangali.

Investigation showed that Arguilla and his men were manning a checkpoint around 9:30 p.m. near a bank along Gov. Lim Avenue when the three men aboard a Honda Wave 100 motorcycle pulled over for inspection.

The policemen immediately saw the motorcycle without plate prompting them to call the attention of the trio.

When asked for inspection, the three men voluntarily opened the motorcycle’s  compartment where a .38 cal. revolver with six bullets inside the cylinder was spotted by the police.

The trio could not present papers legalizing them to possess and carry firearm. They were later were taken to the central police station for detention pending the filing of charges against them in court.

Meanwhile, men of the Tetuan Police Station led by Chief Insp. Elmer Acuña arrested a wanted person and recovered from his possession a .45 cal. pistol in Barangay Guiwan last Tuesday night.

The suspect was identified as Alexis Mauleon y Esperat, married, of Saphire St., Guiwan.

Mauleon was nabbed on the strength of a warrant for violation of Republic Act 9262.

While Mauleon was being taken to the Tetuan Police Station, his mother-in-law called the police and reported that the former was hiding a .45 caliber pistol inside his vehicle in Guiwan.

Policemen returned to the Mauleon residence and found the gun inside a backpack with two magazines loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition. – Dan Toribio Jr.
