A 16-year-old bar dancer and victim of human trafficking was rescued the other day by operatives of the City Police Office’s Women and Children Section led by Sr. Insp. Gemma Luna.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office had earlier reported to Luna that they have received a fax message from the Koronadal Police Station asking for assistance to rescue the 16-year-old from a disco pub along Gov. Camins Avenue.

ased on the information from Koronadal Police Station, the girl was recruited along with two other minors and were brought to Zamboanga City to work as bar girls.

The 16-year-old girl was reportedly working at Las Vegas Disco House.

Policewomen swooped down on the said disco pub, but the girl’s recruiter managed to escape.

Luna’s team then proceeded to the house where the minor was staying in Cabato Road, Tetuan where they rescued the girl and brought her to the city police office for proper disposition.

After documentation, the girl was brought to the Visayan Forum for temporary shelter.
