A notorious robber who was arrested with the help of a close-circuit-television (CCTV) camera that caught him inside a house in Sta. Maria last July 22, but escaped from detention several days after his arrest, was recaptured by the police in Limaong in the east coast yesterday afternoon.

Sr. Insp, Hingming Chang Ladjaali and his men from the Sta. Maria police station collared Aldrin Jailani y Amping  alias Lupin after a brief chase around 2 p.m.

Through the help of CCTV cameras, Jailani of Sitio Aplaya, Manicahan was arrested less than 24 hours after the robbery last last July 23.

Jailani was carrying a flashlight when he entered the house owned by a company executive. He did not know that there were CCTV cameras in various parts, which captured him roaming silently and ransacking valuables and money thereat.

Jailani took two I-Pad 3 and one Nikon DSLR camera and other electronic items worth P140,000

He stayed inside the house for one hour..

The incident was discovered by the house owner around 5 a.m.. He rushed to the Sta. Maria Police Station to report the the burglary.

The house owner also submitted the footage of the CCTV cameras to the police to help in the investigation.

On July 25, a television news program aired the robbery and showed the CCTV footage taken by the CCTV. Later on the same day, a resident of Tugbungan went to the Sta. Maria Police Station and reported that Jailani was selling a camera and I-Pad in the said barangay.

Jailani was also identified through the CCTV camera footages.

Policemen conducted a follow-up operation that resulted in the arrest of Jailani.

Jailani and two other detainees identified as Ben Asadil y Satul of Presa Mayor, Tumaga and Orlic Taguran y Falardo of Gov. Camins Avenue. bolted Sta. Maria Police Station detention cell last August 3.

Taguran and Asadil were recaptured at Gov. Camins Avenue and Recodo few days after the escape.
