The massive implementation of infrastructure projects intended to help improve the delivery of services to constituents  in the barangays continues unabated, as Mayor Celso  Lobregat and Vice Mayor yesterday unveiled 3  projects worth P19 million.

Lobregat and Iturralde, along with Councilors Nonong Guingona and Mike Alavar, City Social Welfare Officer Francisco, City Health Officer Rodel Agbulos and WMSU President Milabel Ho and ZSCMST President Milavel Nazario and other officials motored to barangay Mercedes to inaugurate the barangay hall, Mercedes-Lumbayao bridge and irrigation canal.

The barangay hall is a rehabilitated and expanded building that cost the city government P2.5 million, the irrigation canal located in front of the barangay hall is worth P999,000 while the Mercedes-Lumbayao bridge is worth P15.5 million.

Barangay officials headed by Chairperson Purificacion Delgado gratefully received the projects stressing that the constituents are assured of improved delivery of services.

Mayor Lobregat said the city government under his administration will aggressively pursue the implementation of massive infrastructure projects for the benefit of the constituents in all parts of the city.

Just this month, the city government formally inaugurated and turned over infrastructure projects in the barangays.

Last August 10, Lobregat and Iturralde also led in the blessing and inauguration of the newly constructed covered court amounting to P2.8 million in Recodo, a coastal barangay in the west coast of this city.

Undertaken by RC Construction and Realty in the amount of P2,841,279.04, the covered court  brought to the total of P62.3 million worth of various projects implemented by Lobregat’s administration in Recodo  since 2007.

Last August 15, three footbridges made of steel and cement amounting to P4.3 million in three separate sitios in Barangay Vitali, were also unveiled. The projects bring to more than P131 million worth of various projects implemented by  the city government under the Lobregat administration in Vitali alone.

Undertaken by EMTR Construction, the three footbridges costing the city government a total amount of P4,332,513.46 were unveiled one after the other at sitios Tamion, SPDA and Calle Posporo in Tindalo, all far-flung areas about 3-4 kms outside the center of Vitali.

Despite the distance, the roads leading to the three footbridges are well-paved and cemented, cutting through rice fields and slopes, to the astonishment of the many guests most of them had gone to the area for first time. — Sheila Covarrubias
